ICOM Canada is proud to support the ICOM Exhibitions 2026 Annual Conference, taking place at the Musée de la civilisation in Quebec City from October 4–8, 2026. This is a rare opportunity for Canadian museum professionals to engage with 150+ delegates from around the world — on home turf.
This year’s theme, Momentum: Museums, Exhibitions, and Disruptions, will tackle the most pressing questions shaping our field today: How do we navigate rapid change? Where is the line between innovation and disruption? How can we collaborate to advance the international museum community?
Call for proposals
ICOM Exhibitions is seeking proposals that explore the limits of disruption across three themes:
- Principle vs. Pressure — institutional politics, funding pressures, and censorship
- Frontiers of Disruption — participatory practices, DEI, AI, and sustainability
- Disruption in Action — risk-taking in mediation, technology, and resource management
Successes and failures are equally welcome — what matters is the insight.
